A Message from Principal Barter

Dear Families,

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the start of a new school year at PS 262! The beginning of each year is filled with promise—a fresh opportunity for growth, learning, and community. I am so proud of the partnership we share with you in supporting your child’s academic success and social-emotional development.

This year, our focus remains on creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every student is encouraged to think critically, collaborate with others, and discover their own unique strengths. Together, we will continue to build a culture of respect, inclusivity, and high expectations, ensuring that all of our students are prepared not only for the classroom but also for the world beyond it.

We invite you to stay connected with us through school events, family workshops, and regular updates on our website and newsletters. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference in your child’s educational journey, and we deeply value your partnership.

I look forward to an inspiring and successful school year ahead. Let’s make 2025–2026 a year filled with growth, achievement, and joy!

Warmly,

Desiree Barter
Principal of P.S. 262
